titleOfInvention Dna fragment having promoter function
abstract A DNA originating in a gene encoding rice adenylate kinase and having a function as a promoter in plants; a vector having the DNA with the promoter function; a bacterium containing this vector; plant cells transformed by this vector; and regenerated plants and seeds obtained from these plant cells. The above DNA with the promoter function can be ligated to a structural gene, for example, a reporter gene and then integrated into a vector, for example, an expression vector. When this DNA with the promoter function is ligated, together with a structural gene encoding a protein, to a vector and a host plant is transformed thereby, this structural gene can be expressed. By ligating a desired structural gene under the control of the above DNA fragment, the expression of the desired structural gene can be controlled.
