titleOfInvention | Process and composition for removing lycopene stains from plastic surfaces |
abstract | A process for removing lycopene stains from an organic plastic interior surface of a dishwashing machine is provided. The process includes the step of depositing a machine cleaning formulation in the dishwashing machine. The machine cleaning formulation includes a bleaching species selected from the group consisting of dialkyl peroxide and diacyl peroxide. The bleaching species is in the form of ultramicronized particles having a particle size less than about 10 microns. The bleaching species is present in an amount in a range of from about 10 % to about 25 % by weight of the machine cleaning formulation. The machine cleaning formulation also includes an organic solvent present in a range of from about 3 % to about 15 % by weight of the machine cleaning formulation. The machine cleaning formulation also has a pH in a range of from about 2 to about 11. The lycopene stains are removed to an insubstantial residual amount. |
