abstract The present invention is directed to a biopsy needle for extracting bone marrow from a living bone. The biopsy needle (20) comprises an outer cannula (22), an inner cannula (24) slidable therein, an obturator (26), and an ejector rod (28). The outer cannula (22) has a proximal end (30), affixed to the handle (44), and a distal end (32) which has a tapered inner diameter. The inner cannula (24) likewise has a proximal end (50), affixed to an interlocking handle (56), and a distal end (52).
