abstract | Non-linear effects associated with amplification or a communication path and which affect data integrity are mitigated through the use of a neoteric signal (vector OC) that is both envelope constrained (90) and which has a phase angle (2a) substantially double that of a first zone signal (vector OB). The first zone signal is produced from a combination of an original information-bearing signal (vector AB) and a frequency displaced idle frequency (vector OA). Recovery from the carrier (vector OC) of a wanted signal (vector DC) that is a replica of the information-bearing signal (vector AB) is achieved by bandpass filtering the carrier at a frequency (fs) centred about that of the information-bearing signal. |
