Methods and means for inducing tolerance to stress |
abstract |
The current invention relates to the field of molecular biology and biochemistry. In particular it relates to cell survival and the reaction of cells and/or organisms to stress. Stress in its cell biological sense usually is defined as any kind of circumstances which are less than optimal for a cell or organism to flourish in. The present invention provides a method for enhancing stress tolerance in a cell, comprising providing said cell with additional capability to produce hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a certain substrate and providing said cell with said substrate before, during or after occurance of stress to said cell. |
