abstract A process for modifying a wax process comprises in a treatment step, treating a wax to form primary and/or secondary hydroxyl groups thereon. A hydroxyl wax is thus obtained. Thereafter, in an alkoxylation step, at least some of the hydroxyl groups of hydroxyl wax are subjected to alkoxylation. A modified wax is then obtained.
