A polyester polymer, containing a plurality of negatively charged moieties, is added to a polyamide base polymer to form a polymer blend, which is then shaped, typically by spinning into fiber or by chipping into chips that can be spun, molded or used as masterbatch. The shaped polymer blends exhibit excellent stain resistance, and in the case of polyamide fibers, there is no significant impact on fiber properties such as modification ratio or tenacity. Carpet produced from such fibers is also characterized by excellent stain resistance. |
