titleOfInvention Control system for the workover of oil wells
abstract A workover control system (10) has a hydraulic power unit (30) and an electrical signal control unit located on a vessel and a control module (36) located proximate to a subsea well (14). An electrohydraulic umbilical (32) transmits electrical and hydraulic power and signals from the vessel to the control module (36). During workover of the well, workover devices (12) are operated by hydraulic signals provided by an electrohydraulic switch in the control module. The hydraulic signals are produced in response to electrical signals from the vessel.
