abstract | The invention provides for an antiviral composition for treatment of HIV infection or AIDS and comprising an extract derived from a plant of the species Euphorbia gorgonis and extends to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of such extract. The extract is derived preferably from the bulbous root portion of the plant by an extractive method involving the division of the plant material and its fragmentation and reduction to powder form.
