WATERPROOF COATING COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING DISPERSIONS OF HYBRID POLYMERS OF THE POLYURETHANE-ACRYLIC TYPE |
abstract |
An aqueous coating composition is described which contains a polymeric binder containing acrylic polyurethane hybrid polymer particles dispersed in an aqueous medium, containing a polyurethane polymer, and a copolymer of monomers with addition copolymerizable ethylenic unsaturation. The coatings have better abrasion resistance properties, and greater resistance to water and staining. An aqueous dispersion of a urethane prepolymer is also described for use in manufacturing the manufacture of the dispersion. |
