titleOfInvention VEHICLE WITH SOLID FIBRINOGEN AND SOLID THROMBIN.
abstract The present invention relates to a solid composition useful for tissue bonding, tissue sealing and hemostasis, which essentially consists of a) a vehicle having at least one of the following physical properties: modulus of elasticity in the range of 5 -100 N / cm, density of 1-10mg / cm3, chamber diameter greater than 0.75 mm and less than 4mm and / or having an average chamber diameter less than 3mm and evenly distributed and fixed on said vehicle, b) fibrinogen solid, and c) solid thrombin. The carrier is a biodegradable polymer such as a polyhyaluronic acid, polyhydroxylated acid, for example lactic acid, gulocolic acid, hydroxybutanoic acid, a cellulose, gelatin or collagen, such as a collagen sponge consisting essentially of type I collagen fibers. The fibrinogen and thrombin are preferably transgenic or recombinant human. In a preferred embodiment, the composition does not comprise any antifibrinolytic agent such as aprotinin, e-aminocaproic acid or alpha2-antiplasmin.
