titleOfInvention | PROCEDURE FOR PREPARING ANIMAL FOOD SUPPLEMENT OF GRANULAR L-LYSINE |
abstract | One procedure produces an L-lysine feed supplement with a final L-lysine purity between approx. 35% and 80%, measured as percent of free base per Kg., And more preferably between approx. 50% and 80% L-lysine. The process comprises adding a material containing L-lysine to an L-lysine fermentation broth or a fraction of an L-lysine fermentation broth. The process also comprises a drying step which may involve any suitable drying means such as spray granulator, spray dryer, tray dryer, drum dryer, rotary dryer and tunnel dryer. Another object of this invention is to provide an improved process for producing powder-free, fluid, granular L-lysine from fermentation. Another object of the invention is to provide a simpler and cheaper method for producing granular L-lysine. Indeed, one object is to produce a dust-free product that does not require a high-shear mixing plant. A further object is to provide an L-lysine product which is dried and granulated in one step, a process herein referred to as the agglomeration step. |
