abstract A process is described for the preparation of a compound of formula (I) (figure 1) in which R2 is NH2, H, halogen, among others; R3, R5, and R7 are each independently H, halogen, SF5, among others; X is O or NOY; Y is H or C1-6 alkyl; R8 is, for example, C3-8 cycloalkyl; provided that the compound is not 3-cyano-4-formyl-1-phenylpyrazole; or a pharmaceutically or veterinarily acceptable acid addition salt thereof. As a non-limiting example: 3-cyano-1- (2,6-dichloro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl) -5-prop-2-ylamino) -4-trifluoroacetylpyrazole + Compounds as described have pesticidal properties.
