titleOfInvention | NEW COMPOSITIONS BASED ON NOMEGESTEROL DERIVATIVES AND THEIR PROCEDURES FOR OBTAINING |
abstract | The present invention relates to new compositions in the form of subcutaneous implants characterized in that they contain an effective amount of a 3-substituted derivative of 6-methyl 17alpha-OR1 10-oxo 19-nor pregna 4,6-diene chosen for example the 3,20-dioxo 6-methyl 17alpha-OR1 19-nor pregna 4,6-dienes of formula I (figure 1) in which R1 is hydrogen or the acyl residue of an aromatic, aliphatic organic carboxylic acid or cyclic with 2 to 16 carbon atoms. The active principle is in micronized, microcrystalline, crushed or amorphous form. The support material is a biocompatible and sterilizable polymer. Said material is dimethylpolysiloxane. The implant is formed of a segment of polymeric material of cylindrical shape, the length of which is between 20 and 50 mm, the diameter between 2 and 4 mm. In addition, the procedure for making implants according to the present invention is described. It is used as a method of female contraception. |
