abstract Methods for modulating Ca 2+ signaling in cardiac myocytes by use of xanthohumol are described. Xanthohumol can suppress Ca 2+ signaling by suppressing spontaneous activity of the RyR2 receptor. Delivery of xanthohumol to a cardiocyte can be utilized in treatment of cardiac arrhythmia.
