abstract A method quickly recognizes a person by identification codes derivable from biometric data includes registering a user, and recognizing a registered user, through a respective recognition event. Each registration event includes acquiring at least one biometric datum related to blood vessels of the user. The acquired biometric datum is encoded into a respective registration identification code and associated with the user. The user and the associated registration identification code are registered. Each recognition event includes acquiring biometric datum related to the user's blood vessels and encoding the acquired biometric datum into a respective recognition identification code. Based on the registered registration identification codes, a comparison set of comparison identification codes is prepared and compared. For each comparison, a matching level is estimated and the user is recognized or refused recognition based on the estimated matching levels.
