Therapeutic and preventive interventions include, treating the patient with a PARR inhibitors and/or laprascopic oophorectomy. The invention also relates to systems and methods of genotyping an individual, and to methods of identifying a patent with a higher than normal likelihood of developing cancer and/or genetically related individuals or groups at heighten risk for developing cancer, particularly ovarian cancer.
