titleOfInvention |
Method and system to reclaim functional sites on a sorbent contaminated by heat stable salts |
abstract |
The objective of this invention is to develop a method to reclaim functional sites on a CO 2 sorbent that have reacted with an acid gas (other than CO 2 ) to form heat stable salts (HSS). HSS are a significant concern for dry sorbent based CO 2 capture because over time the buildup of HSS will reduce the overall functionality of the CO 2 sorbent. A chemical treatment can remove the non-CO 2 acid gas and reclaim functional sites that can then be used for further CO 2 adsorption. |
