abstract Compositions, kits and methods using a cationic salt of a dioic acid to treat organic material, including wood and wood-containing material, are disclosed. The treatment may be supplemented with a second salt. Reductions in the rate and/or impact of water absorption, dimensional instability and living organism decay are achieved for organic materials.
