abstract The invention consists of the use, in an alkide resin formulation in an aqueous phase, of a dispersing agent/thickener pair:n the dispersing agent is a copolymer of (meth)acrylic acid with an oxyalkylated monomer possessing a polymerizable function and terminated by hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, the thickener is an associative thickener containing at least one hydrophobic group which is a polystyrylphanyl, preferentially chosen from among distyrylphenyl, tristyrylphenyl, and mixtures thereof, and which is very preferentially tristyrylphenyl. nn This combination makes it possible to improve the brightness level retention of the paint film over time, while ensuring that the aqueous formulation has the desired rheology.
