abstract Disclosed is a method of storing a fluorine-containing disilanol compound represented by the following formula (3) in the presence of a tertiary amine in such an amount that a molar ratio of the tertiary amine to a silanol group of the fluorine-containing disilanol compound ranges from 0.001 to 20,n nHO—Z—R 1 —R f —R 1 —Z—OH  (3)n wherein R f is a divalent fluorinated hydrocarbon group or a divalent fluorinated polyether group, R 1 may be the same with or different from each other and is a substituted or unsubstituted divalent hydrocarbon group which may have at least one atom selected from the group consisting of oxygen, nitrogen, silicon, and sulfur atoms, and Z is a group represented by the following formula (2)n n—SiR 2 R 3 —  (2)n wherein R 2 and R 3 may be the same with or different from each other and are monovalent organic groups.
