abstract | A compound represented by the following general formula (I): n n{R 1 , R 3 , R 6 and R 8 are methyl groups and the like, R 2 and R 7 are cyano groups and the like, R 4 and R 5 are fluorine atoms and the like, and X is a group represented by the formula (A) [R 11 is a monocarboxy-substituted C 1-8 alkoxy group and the like, R 12 , R 14 and R 15 are hydrogen atoms and the like, and R 13 is hydroxy group and the like], provided that the combination of the aforementioned substituents is such a combination that the compound represented by the formula (I) can be substantially non-fluorescent before reacting with peroxynitrite, and the compound represented by the formula (I) in which the group represented by the formula (A) is nitrated after reacting with peroxynitrite can be substantially highly fluorescent}, or a salt thereof, which is useful as a fluorescent probe for peroxynitrite measurement. |
