abstract The invention provides a polyvinyl alcohol film composition including: (A) 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl alcohol; and (B) 0.001 to 30 parts by weight of a multi-hydroxyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS). The POSS is soluble in polar solvents, but insoluble in water. The invention also provides a polarizing plate containing the polyvinyl alcohol film composition.
