abstract |
A multiple cuff system is disclosed which has more than one cuff some of which may be perforated or permeable in any degree or made of porous materials to let in situ delivery of different drugs, and especially local anesthetics to the target tissues that are the tissues in touch or within the vicinity of the inflated cuff. The local anesthetics suitable to be delivered via the cuff are also introduced. The preferred method for application of the multiple cuffed ETT during surgical operations, can overcome the emergence reactions commonly encountered during lighter levels of anesthesia. |
