abstract A method for evaluating an inflow performance for completed intervals in a well includes pulsing neutrons into a fluid flow in the wellbore, detecting gamma rays from decays of nitrogen-16 in the well fluid flow with a first gamma ray detector, determining an in situ water velocity from the measurement of the gamma ray decays, and estimating the inflow performance of one or more competed intervals in the well from data that includes the in situ water velocity.
