The invention relates to a process for preparation of salts of dialkylphosphinic acids, which comprisesn a) reacting hypophosphorous acid and/or its salts with olefins in the presence of a free-radical initiator to give dialkylphosphinic acids and/or their alkali metal salts, in a solvent system, and b) reacting the dialkylphosphinic acids and/or alkali metal dialkylphosphinates obtained in a) with compounds of the metals Mg, Ca, Al, Zn, Ti, Sn, Zr, and/or Fe to give the dialkylphosphinic salts of these metals. nn The invention also relates to the use of the metal dialkylphosphinic salts obtained by the inventive process, in particular for preparation of flame retardants. |
