An image forming apparatus including an image bearing member; a charger for charging the image bearing member; a light irradiating device for irradiating the charged image bearing member to form an electrostatic image; a developing device for developing the electrostatic image to form a toner image; a primary transfer device for transferring the toner image to an intermediate transfer medium; a secondary transfer device for transferring the toner image to a receiver; a first cleaning device for cleaning the image bearing member; a second cleaning device for cleaning the intermediate transfer medium; a first lubricant applicator for applying a first lubricant to the image bearing member; and a second lubricant applicator for applying a second lubricant to the intermediate transfer medium such that the surface has a second static friction coefficient higher than the first static friction coefficient. |
