abstract The present invention relates to an infrared filter comprising a biaxially oriented co-extruded film having at least three polyester layers comprising an intermediate polyester layer and the surface polyester layers on both sides of the said intermediate layer, n said intermediate layer containing a near infrared absorber having an absorption peak at 800 to 1,100 nm in an amount of 0.1 to 10% by weight based on the weight of the intermediate layer, n the light transmittance of said film being not higher than 30% at 950 nm, and n the average center line roughness (Ra) of the film surface on at least one side being 10 to 30 nm.
