abstract This invention provides a surface-treating agent, as a hard surface-treatment or stain-proofing agent, comprising titanium oxide of an anatase form, a thermoplastic resin and an organic medium, the titanium oxide and the thermoplastic resin being dispersed in the organic medium, wherein the content of the titanium oxide is within the range of 0.05-20 wt % and the content of the thermoplastic resin within the range of 0.05-20 wt %. This surface-treating agent is usable for vehicles such as cars and aircrafts, office furniture, or buildings, and has a good workability, stain-proofing effect and water spot formation-preventing effect.
