abstract A non-stick coating with improved scratch resistance comprises an undercoat applied to a substrate, coated with a primary coat comprising a fluorocarbon resin and one or more fluorocarbon resin-based outer coats. The undercoat comprises at least 50% by weight of the polymer oxy-1,4-phenylene-oxy-1,4-phenylene-carbonyl-1,4-phenylene, known as PEEK, and is free of fluorocarbon resin.
