abstract | Flame retardant organic phosphorus-phosphorus oxyacid compounds are produced by mixing and reacting a phosphorus halide, phosphorus oxyacid and an organic compound. This organic phosphorus-phosphorus oxyacid compound may be reacted with a basic compound to produce a flame retardant salt of organic phosphorus-phosphorus oxyacid. The organic phosphorus-phosphorus oxyacid and/or it's salt may be mixed with or applied on a flammable organic material to make it less flammable. A flame retardant composition may be produced by mixing or reacting the organic phosphorus-phosphorus oxyacid or it's salt with carbonization auxiliaries, carbonization accelerators, comb-like polymer and a filler. This composition may be mixed in or applied on a flammable organic material to make it less flammable. |
