abstract | A method of producing a metal salt of 2,4-oxazolidinedione of the general formula (III) wherein a 2hydroxycarboxylate fo the general formula (I), urea and a metal alkoxide of the formula (II) are reacted in an aromatic hydrocarbon; or a 2-hydroxycarboxylate of the general formula (I) and a metal alkoxide of the formula (II) are added to urea, and, then, they are reacted is provided:wherein, R1 and R2 are each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, R3 represents a lower alkyl group, R4 represents a lower alkyl group, and M represents an alkali metal atom; and also provided is a method of producing a 2,4-oxazolidinedione of the general formula (IV)wherein a metal salt of 2,4-oxazolidinedione of the general formula (III) is added to an aqueous solution of an acid. |
