abstract The present invention is an improved material which may be used as a filter media for gas filtration systems, such as for industrial gas streams and commercial or residential vacuum cleaners. The filter material comprises a filter media support bonded to a porous expanded PTFE membrane, and further comprising a screen material bonded to the porous expanded PTFE. The screen material protects the expanded PTFE surface against damage due to impingement of particles during operation of the gas filtration system.
