A flame retardant composition suitable for mesh sheets comprising 1.5 to 15 parts by weight of red phosphorus, 5 to 50 parts by weight of melamine sulfate, 40 to 150 parts by weight of a metal hydroxide, and a polyolefin-based resin aqueous dispersion having a resin solid content of 25 to 70% by weight. Each of said weights being based upon 100 parts by weight of the solid content of said dispersion.The present invention in many embodiments does not contain halogen, does not experience a rise in the viscosity of flameproofing agent during storage and provides an excellent effect that the flameproofing component does not elute even when a treated mesh sheet is washed and used repeatedly. |
