abstract Curable compositions comprising stable, water dispersible, curable polymers containing sterically hindered alkoxylated silane groups and acid groups blocked by fugitive bases at 0.1 to 75 weight percent of the total composition and water at 99.9 to 25 weight percent of the total composition are taught herein, as well as methods for the use and manufacture thereof. Additional components, such as emulsifiers, buffers and thickeners are also taught. These compositions are useful as adhesives, sealants and paints. The compositions have improved properties including solvent resistance, adhesion, hardness, abrasion resistance and mar resistance.
