abstract The present invention refers to a process for disposing of materials which are explosive active masses and/or contain them comprising the following steps: n feeding the materials to be disposed off in a rotary cylindrical furnace (1), conveying the materials into a reaction zone and simultaneously forming compartments of the materials during conveyance, with the materials being thermally reacted in an oxygen-containing environment and the reaction products being fractionately discharged in the form of solid, liquid and gaseous products.
