The present invention relates to an aircraft transparency including an electroconductive metal oxide coating over a rigid plastic substrate, and a polyurethane protective liner over the metal oxide coating, and more specifically to the use of a primer for adhering the metal oxide coating to the substrate and/or a primer for adhering the polyurethane protective liner to the metal oxide coating. The metal oxide primer includes a carbonate diol-based crosslinked polyurethane. The polyurethane primer is selected from the group consisting of a crosslinked copolymer of acrylic acid and substituted acrylates such as 2-ethylhexylacrylate; a crosslinked copolymer of cyanoethylacrylate and acrylic acid; and a crosslinked terpolymer of 2-ethylhexylacrylate, cyanoethylacrylate and acrylic acid. |
