The active ingredients of the composition are the amino acid L-threonine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and vitamin B6. A method for reducing and eliminating the pathological attraction to alcohol and treatment of alcohol abstinence syndrome, as well as a method for increasing attention comprises sublingual administration of an effective amount of the composition.
