abstract A magnesium-taurine compound and its method of synthesis. The compound is synthesized by reacting taurine and magnesium in a 2:1 molar ratio. The resulting mixture is diluted with methanol and the remaining clear filtrate is crystallized from methanol. This compound may be administered orally as a nutritional supplement or may be administered orally or intravenously for treatment of thrombotic or embolic stroke.
