abstract A method of improving the structural integrity of the binder and polymeric matrix components of electrochemical cell precursors by employing polymer blends comprising fluoropolymers is provided. The method forms porous polymeric structures that enhances the mass transport of ions in the cell which results in improved electrochemical performance. Films or webs of electrochemical cell precursors comprising the fluoropolymer blends are flexible which enhances processability.
