The present invention relates generally to methods and compositions for inhibiting wound contraction and the scarring that frequently results from such contraction. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of a protein tyrosine phosphatase inhibitor to block the dephosphorylation of protein tyrosine phosphatase receptors and interrupt the cyclic nature of wound contraction. |
