The invention relates to compounds of the formula I <IMAGE> (I) in which n is a number in the range from 1 to 100; X is -R7-, -CO-, -CO-CO-, -CO-R2-CO-, -CO-NH-R5-NH-CO-, -CO-O-R6-O-CO- or <IMAGE> where p is a number in the range from 0 to 6, X' is O or a direct bond, E is C1-C12alkyl, phenyl, C7-C12phenylalkyl or C5-C12cycloalkyl, and E' is hydrogen or is as defined for E; Z, when X is R7, is O or NR1; Z, when X is <IMAGE> is O; and Z, in all other cases, is O, NH or NR1; R1 is C1-C4alkyl, C7-C9phenylalkyl, C5-C7cycloalkyl, C2-C8alkanoyl, benzoyl or C1-C4alkyl-substituted benzoyl; R2 and R7 are C1-C18alkylene; C2-C18alkylene which is interrupted by O or S; phenylene; a mixed aromatic/aliphatic radical containing 7 to 12 carbon atoms; naphthylene; or an -R4-D-R4- radical; R4 is 1,4-cyclohexylene or 1,4-phenylene; and R6 is phenylene, naphthylene or <IMAGE> R5, when Z is O, is as defined for R6; and R5, when Z is NH or NR1, is as defined for R6; and D is C1-C3alkylene, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -CO-, -O-, -NH- or -NR1-. Compounds of the formula I can advantageously be used for stabilizing organic material against the harmful effects of light, oxygen and/or heat. |
