abstract An aqueous foaming cosmetic composition comprising (a) from 0.1 to 7% of an imidazolinium amphoteric surfactant, (b) from about 0.1% to about 5.0% of a polyol alkoxy ester wherein the ratio of (a):(b) is from about 15:1 to about 1:1 and wherein the cleansing composition has a viscosity of at least about 150 cps (Brookfield RVT, Spindle No TB, 10 rpm, 25 DEG C.). The composition has improved foam stability, together with excellent cleansing performance and mildness. It is suitable for use as make-up and facial cleansers, foam bath, shower products, shampoos etc.
