A method for producing a hydrofluorocarbon of the formula a H n R f H wherein n is 0 or 1, and when n is 0, R f is a C 2-12 linear or branched polyfluoroalkyl group, and when n is 1, R f is a C 2-12 linear or branched polyfluoroalkylene group, which comprises reacting an iodofluorocarbon of the formula I n R f I wherein n and R f are as defined above, with an alkali metal hydroxide under action of an alcohol mixture comprising a primary alcohol and a secondary alcohol. |
