abstract This invention provides a single-phase aqueous solution of a zinc-polyamine complex which is stable and has a clear transparency. The aqueous solution can be incorporated as a component of an oral care product such as a mouthwash or toothpaste. The zinc-polyamine complex enhances the control of oral malodor, plaque, calculus and gingivitis in dental applications, and decreases the astringency and metallic taste which is characteristic of zinc ions in an oral cavity.
