A two component-type developer for electrophotography showing improved electrophotographic performances and also free from carrier adhesion (undesirable carrier transfer to the photosensitive member and recording materials) is constituted by using a magnetic carrier of 5-100 mu m in particle size. The carrier has a bulk density of at most 30 g/cm3, and magnetic properties including: a magnetization of 30-150 emu/cm3 under a magnetic field strength of 1000 oersted, a magnetization (residual magnetization sigma r) of at least 25 emu/cm3 under a magnetic field strength of zero oersted, a coercive force of less than 300 oersted, and a relationship of:| sigma 1000- sigma 300|/ sigma 1000</=0.40wherein sigma 1000 and sigma 300 denote magnetizations under magnetic field strength of 1000 oersted and 300 oersted, respectively. |
