abstract Novel siloxane macromonomers are disclosed which can be copolymerized with hydrophilic monomers or hydrophobic monomers to prepare polymeric materials useful as biomedical devices. The copolymers made from hydrophilic monomers exhibit good oxygen permeability and are particularly suitable for use in contact lenses.
