abstract An oxygen scavenger for aqueous mediums is disclosed. The oxygen scavengers comprise cyclohexanediones which, when added to basic aqueous solutions, effectively scavenge oxygen from the aqueous solutions. The oxygen scavenger has particular utility as an oxygen scavenger from water in heating systems such as boilers and heat exchangers.
