abstract A process is described for preparing blends of fluorocarbon plastomers such as vinylidene fluoride polymers with fluorosilicone elastomers to obtain materials having a unique combination of flexibility at low temperature and high mechanical strength. Vinylidene fluoride polymer is first exposed to radiation and then mixed with the fluorosilicone. Coagents such as diallylphtalate and triallylisocyanurate are also used to assist in grafting and compatibilizing the two polymers.
