A method for detecting the progression or regression of a gynecologic cancer in a female by: (a) taking a first measurement of the amount of human chorionic gonadotropin beta-subunit core fragment in a bodily non-blood fluid sample from a female known to be suffering from a gynecologic cancer, (b) subsequent to step (a), taking one or more further measurements of human chorionic gonadotropin beta-subunit core fragment from a bodily non-blood fluid sample from the female, (c) comparing the first measurement to said one or more further measurements to ascertain if the human chorionic gonadotropin beta-subunit core fragment is increasing or decreasing, as an indication that the cancer is respectively progressing or regressing. |
